St Cecilia's new Performers and Speakers Syllabus (PASS) is now available for immediate use throughout New Zealand, Australia and Asia. Our very creative syllabus is designed to develop the skills needed to become an articulate speaker and performer. St. Cecilia is currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced teachers to apply and train as examiners for the subject. More information is available on our website under PASS. Music & English Competition - Hong Kong

St Cecilia is pleased to announce the extension of its Music and English Language Competition for Hong Kong in July 2010. Students from schools, studios, colleges and universities are invited to enter for any number of classes in the competition. Generous prizes will be awarded. Eminent judges from Australia will adjudicate. The Competition is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian Trade Commission. English language Courses - Hong Kong

EPASS - English for Performers and Speakers Syllabus is now available in Hong Kong. Course for small groups have been especially designed by native English teachers to Bring English to Life. St. Cecilia is pleased to be the major supporting body and will send trained examiners to Hong Kong from Australia and New Zealand twice each year. New Violin Albums - NEW

St Cecilia Examinations is pleased to announce that albums for violin examinations Grades Preliminary, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are now available. Queensland Studies Authority - Formal Recognition of SCSM for QCE

St. Cecilia Examinations may now be used by Queensland secondary school students for inclusion on their Queensland Certificate of Education. Students who successfully complete practical grades 5, 6, 7 and 8; Drum Kit Certificates 3 and 4; Theory of Music Certificates 5, 6, 7 and 8 are eligible. Western Australia - WACE Recognition for all SCSM Exams

Western Australian students who are enrolled in a secondary school offering certification by the Western Australian Curriculum Council Certificate of Education (WACE) may have their St. Cecilia practical and theoretical grade qualifications listed on their school certificate. Students should advise their school principal (or nominated officer) that they intend to undertake a St Cecilia examination and wish to include details and results on their certificate. Examinations and documentation must be completed before the beginning of December. Western Australia - Music Teachers' Association Formal Recognition

Teachers who hold the St Cecilia Diploma of Teaching are eligible to apply for full membership to the Western Australian Music Teachers' Association. Membership offers professional development opportunities as well as a listing in the WAMTA teachers' registry. Further details from St. Cecilia's Tasmanian office.

International Music Examinations Board & SCSM - reciprocal recognition

IMEB and SCSM are pleased to announce the introduction of joint qualifications in music. The achievement of a diploma from either of these organisations will entitle the candidate to the award of an equivalent diploma from the other organisation (with appropriate fees and enrolment). Two diplomas may therefore be obtained. The Boards of both organisations have recognised that the diplomas are of an equivalent standard and rigour. The same procedure will also apply to grade certificates. This arrangement becomes effective immediately.

South Australia & Northern Territory - SSABSA Recognition of SCSM Examinations

South Australian and Northern Territory students who are enrolled in a secondary school offering certification by the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA) may have their St. Cecilia practical grade qualifications from Grade 5 onwards, listed on their school certificate. Music Teachers' Association of South Australia - formal recognition.

Teachers who hold the St Cecilia teaching diplomas are invited to make application for membership to the Music Teachers' Association of South Australia. Theory of Music Courses On-Line

Designed to assist busy teachers and students to complete all the theoretical requirements expected of a developing musician, the new Theory of Music Courses are now available internationally on-line. These unique courses have been designed by a team of top professional musicians, educationalists and computer experts, and culminate in the completion of the SCSM theoretical, composition and Language of Music examinations. Music Teachers Association of New South Wales - Accreditation of SCSM Teaching Diploma

Holders of the St. Cecilia Diploma in Teaching (Dip.SCSM) may apply for full accreditation with the Music Teachers' Association of New South Wales under the Category A -holders of a degree or diploma in music or music education. St. Cecilia teachers throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia are eligible to apply. Overseas teachers qualify for a discounted membership rate and the $25 application fee will be deducted for teachers who apply before 30th December, 2006. Tasmanian Qualifications Authority - Tasmanian Certificate of Education

Tasmanian students currently studying in years 11 or 12 may apply to the TQA to have their St Cecilia examinations recorded on the Tasmanian Certificate of Education. Students who have already completed (or intend to complete) Grades 4,5,6,7 or 8 or the Advanced Recital Certificate in any practical subject including Concert Certificates, and/or Certificates 2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 in the Theory of Music are eligible. IMEB / ANZCA / ABRSM / AMEB / Trinity Guildhall / NZMEB / London College / AGMS

SCSM is pleased to accept Grade 8 (and higher)in all practical subjects from the NZMEB, ABRSM, AMEB, IMEB, Trinity Guildhall, London College, ANZCAS, AGMS as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) credits towards all St. Cecilia Teaching Diplomas. The performance unit of these diplomas will be waived. Requests for credit should be made when submitting diploma entry forms
