
Certificate of Music Teaching - Training Course Now Available
The St. Cecilia School of Music is offering training courses for students wishing to complete the requirements for the Certificate of Music Teaching (CMT). Courses can be tailor-made over a short period eg. a weekend course. The CMT covers teaching at the beginner levels and focusses on the business as well as the educational aspects of a music teaching practice. Santa Cecilia Opens New Centres in Italia!
Following careful planning and discussions with administrators, authorities, teachers, parents and students, Salerno in Southern Italy has become the latest international centre to open for St Cecilia. Examinations in all instrument and subjects from elementary levels through all grades and concert certificates and diplomas, are now offered. The next examination session will be in June 2013. New Theory Syllabus Now Available
A completely new and revitalised syllabus is now available to teachers and students for examinations in 2013. New workbooks with a more user-friendly approach are available from Dynamic Publishing (AUS). Students who successfully complete the SCSM Theory Grades will be exempted from the General Knowledge (Programme Notes) section of their practical B, J, P, 1 - 4 examination simply by presenting their certificate to the examiner at the commencement of their exam.
Certificate in Music Teaching & Diploma Preparation Courses - AUS NZ & HK
Enrolments for St Cecilia's teacher training courses are now open for 2012. Courses are currently being conducted in Wellington (NZ), Dunedin (NZ), Sydney (NSW), Launceston (TAS) and Hong Kong. All courses lead to either acquiring the Certificate of Music Teaching (CMT), Associate Diploma in Teaching or the Diploma in Teaching. Most subjects are catered for. Music Competition - Hong Kong 2013
St Cecilia's popular International Hong Kong Music Competition will again be held in Hong Kong througjhout July 2013. Students from schools, studios, colleges and universities are invited to enter for any number of classes in the competition. Generous prizes will be awarded. SCSM is pleased to accept Grade 8 (and higher)in all practical subjects from the NZMEB, ABRSM, AMEB, IMEB, Trinity Guildhall, London College, ANZCAS, AGMS, NZMEB as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) credits towards all St. Cecilia Teaching Diplomas. The performance unit of these diplomas will be waived. Requests for credit should be made when submitting diploma entry forms
